Guidance Notes about Hiring From Life Style Leasing


We will require the following items
To ensure your holiday is not delayed, we require you to send us the following identification items (unless you have already sent them), along with your completed booking form (enclosed) and your full payment at least 28 days prior to departure:

Personal Identification Requirements
• 2 items of proof of residential ID of the hirer which will be returned upon return of the vehicle
(Utility bill, or credit card statement is acceptable)

You need to have the following items when collecting
(Note we cannot release the vehicle without these items being present)

• Passport of other photo ID of hirer
• Valid UK or International driving license for each driver
• A cheque for vehicle damage of £125 (We will not cash it)

Vehicle Familiarisation
There is plenty to cover during our vehicle familiarization session, which lasts approximately 1/2 hour. Please ensure that you allow time for this induction process. The vehicle is fully equipped, but you must bring your own bedding.

Collection Times
Unless previously agreed, your vehicle will not be available for collection until after 3.00pm on the day required. Your vehicle return time is before -11.00am; a late return fee of £25 per hour is levied for late arrivals.

Smoking is strictly forbidden in all our motor homes.

Terms & Conditions
Please read carefully. We will be pleased to clarify, in writing, any point on which you may have a query.
1. General

Collecting and returning the motor home a helpful hint: If possible, try not to start your holiday on the same day you collect your vehicle. We need to show you exactly how to get the most out of your motor home, and this will take some time. It is essential that the hirer should be given a thorough introduction to the rental vehicle by our experts before the journey begins.

Since the times for collecting and returning motor homes are carefully planned, please return your motor home on time. A penalty of £25- per hour is payable for time between expiry of the rent agreement and the return of your vehicle (maximum penalty is daily rental charge). Should the late return of the vehicle make us liable for extra costs (e.g. compensation of the next hirer), we reserve the right to pass on these costs to you.

Please return your vehicle on time.

Bed linen/Kitchen equipment
: Please bring your own bed linen, blankets, pillows, towels. Equipment such as camping table and chairs. Your motor home will include all crockery and other kitchen equipment.

Replacement vehicles: If your chosen motor home is not available, Lifestyle Leasing reserves the right to offer you another vehicle in its place. This may be of similar size to the vehicle requested or larger, and will be similarly equipped. In this event, the hirer is not liable for higher rental charges. If a smaller vehicle is offered and accepted, the difference in charges will be refunded. If a larger vehicle is offered, Lifestyle Leasing is not liable for additional expenses e.g. higher ferry charges or road tolls.

The hirer may travel in any European countries with the exception of Turkey. Travel in countries outside Europe is only possible after prior agreement with Lifestyle Leasing. Written confirmation from Lifestyle Leasing and additional insurance are required before beginning the journey. The hirer may not travel in war or disaster zones.

Collection times:

Monday to Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m

Return times:

Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m

Collection and return are not usually possible on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays. Collection or return times which fall outside the dates and times given must be agreed with Lifestyle Leasing.

The return of the vehicle is confirmed in writing, signed by the hirer and the Lifestyle Leasing. Collection and return days are charged as per day.

Drivers: No one other than the drivers named in the insurance proposal form may drive the hired vehicle.

2. Driving Licenses:

Drivers must be over 25 and under 70 years of age and have held a domestic driving licence for at least 3 years. In certain circumstances the lower age limit can be reduced to 23. (Further details obtainable from Lifestyle Leasing The licence must be unendorsed (except for speeding and parking offences) and must be produced at the time of collecting the vehicle. Visitors from abroad must hold a current international driving permit or licence. 2 Forms of proof of identity (including photo such as a passport) must be produced by all hirers at the start of the hire i.e. utility bills, Bank statements or credit card statements.


3. Insurance:

Fully Comprehensive insurance is included within the hire charge. The vehicle is insured for the period of hire contracted ONLY, thus late return of the vehicle would incur a traffic offence under the road traffic act. Hirers are advised to take out additional personal holiday insurance. A £1250 excess payable by the hirer is applied to all vehicles.


4. Booking Details:

Telephone and online bookings can be made, but will only be held for 5 days, by which time a completed Booking Form and a deposit of £150 per week of hire should have been received by Lifestyle Leasing. The booking deposit is not refundable and shall be deducted from the hire charges. Confirmation of booking will be posted to you with an invoice in respect of the balance. Early booking is advised to avoid disappointment.


5. Breakdowns:

In the unlikely event of a breakdown, Lifestyle Leasing requests that the hirer seeks the help of the RAC or the appropriate breakdown company quoting the registration number of the vehicle. Hirers are only authorised to request repairs up to the value of £50. Repairs costing in excess of £50 must first be authorised by Lifestyle Leasing PRIOR to the work being undertaken.

6. The hirer agrees that he or she:

a) shall not carry more passengers than the seating capacity of the vehicle or allow the vehicle to be overloaded

b) Shall not use the vehicle for carrying passengers or goods for hire or reward

c) Will be responsible to Lifestyle Leasing for the cost of making good and damage caused to the vehicle caused by improper use.

d) Understands that he/she is responsible for any fines (including parking fines) which may be incurred during the hire period.

e) Shall not, without written consent from Lifestyle Leasing to take the vehicle out of the UK mainland.

f) Understands that no claim by the hirer for loss or damage to personal belongings or effects of the hirer or any person or persons will be considered.

g) Understands that any damage to the interior of the vehicle (including cigarette burns) living or cooking equipment will be charged to the hirer in all cases.


7. Period of Hire:

The times and dates of the contract of hire must be strictly adhered to

NO REFUND IS GIVEN FOR THE EARLY RETURN OF THE VEHICLE


8. CANCELLATIONS:

All cancellations must be in writing. If cancellation is received more than 6 weeks prior to the commencement of hire, the deposit will be forfeited. All monies due and received within 6 weeks of the commencement of hire are not refundable except the insurance excess/damage bond which is refundable provided that no other sums are unpaid by way of deposit or otherwise.

Lifestyle Leasing reserves the right to cancel hire if, at the commencement of hire. The driver’s licences are invalid or not according to the conditions set out above. In these circumstances the total hire charge will be forfeited. Hirers are strongly advised to insure against unavoidable cancellation.


9. Availability:

While every effort is made to ensure that the vehicle reserved is available, if due to circumstances beyond our control, the reserved vehicle is not available, the company reserves the right to offer a suitable alternative. If this is not acceptable, the liability of Lifestyle Leasing will be limited to the return of any monies paid by the hirer.


10. Liabilities:

The hirer is responsible for all costs and expenses incurred as a result of offences against the road traffic act and are also liable for any damage above cab height. The hirer will also indemnify Lifestyle Leasing from any liability.


11. Animals:

All animals other than guide dogs have to be approved by Lifestyle Leasing at the time of booking. If approved, all damage however caused by the animals will be charged to the hirer in full.


12. Parking:

The hirer may park free of charge and at his/her own risk one car at Lifestyle Leasing for the period of the hire.


13. Collection and Return:

Vehicles are available for collection Monday to Saturday. Hiring's start and finish at Fairfield. Unemptied toilets will incur a £50 penalty.

Minimum hire term is 7 days unless otherwise agreed.

Minimum hire period for continental travel is 2 weeks.

Smoking is strictly prohibited in all our motor homes.

Lifestyle Leasing reserve the right to vary the rates and conditions of hire at any time and to decline hire to any person at any time without reason, this includes the right to change vehicles when necessary.
